Bonnie has just been surrendered into SGS care and luckily a kind foster family was quickly ready to welcome her. Bonnie is just two years old, a little more than a pup. So far she has been very curious about her new surroundings, but gentle. In these pictures you can see her getting to know her new foster sister. We will update her profile once we get to know her a little better.

Jordan - Reserved

Date of Birth:
Breed:
Greyhound
Male
Sex:
Jordan has been in a foster home for a couple of weeks and his assessment has been rather straightforward, so we can already give you quite some amount of detail on him.
Whoever said that dog is man’s best friend must have been thinking of Jordan. Jordan is a big hound, the most empathetic and deeply affectionate you will ever meet. All dogs respond to building a bond, and this is particularly true of Jordan. This pooch thrives on being treated kindly and on praise, and in fact responds to praise and affection more than he does to food. The best way to get him to come to you is to smile to him and say his name in a kind tone.
In the house he is a perfect gentleman. Sleeps well throughout the night, has his breakfast and then goes back to his bed while waiting for his morning walk. Upon returning from his 30 walk he embarks in another snooze, until lunch time. After lunch is served he is ready for his next snooze, which lasts until his afternoon walk. After his second walk he gets a little chew/lick mat/snuffle mat while his foster parents are having dinner. And then it is evening couch time, watching a movie or reading a book with the rest of the family.
Jordan is a joy to live with. In the house he is the easiest dog you can think of: clean, polite, the right amount of playful and adorably snoozy.
He was very much struggling in kennel but in the home environment he has started thriving straight away. Outside of kennel he is a completely different dog. What he wanted was a chance to a home.
Jordan loves to travel in the car, you just need to open the door and he will jump in, no coaxing required. He learnt very quickly to go up and down the stairs and in fact he does it very well. He is slow and calm, especially coming down.
He needs about two 30 min walks per day. He has a good appetite and is not a fussy eater, will gladly eat what is on the menu.
He gets on incredibly well with all greyhounds and sighthounds in general (he has greeted politely all the greyhounds, whippets and lurchers that he has met so far). He is still learning to understand that other dog breeds are indeed …dogs. We believe that with time, training and lots of love he will learn this too. He seems to find it easier to grasp the concept when in the presence of other greyhounds – when he walks with other greyhounds he seems to behave better with other dogs too. So he might like to be rehomed with another greyhound – but this is not a must.
His foster parents are building his time alone and this is going well, no problems there.
Jordan might also like access to a garden. And would love to have a family to call his own. If you can give him the love he deserves get in touch with us.
