Kennel Hounds

Jordan is a beautiful large hound who recently arrived at the kennels. He has now adjusted to his surroundings and is starting to show his lovely personality. Jordan is just a gigantic cuddle bug. He loves cuddles and human company more than toys (which he likes) and probably also a tiny bit more than food (which means something, as he is a foodie!). He thrives on human attention, so he would love to be chosen by a family who will help him build up his time alone. Walks well on lead and takes treats gently. Most importantly, he is all ready to be fostered or adopted by someone who will see how adorable he is! Jordan might also like to live with another dog, but this is not necessarily needed. He is a tall, lean lad, who can jump up very high, so he will need a secure garden.

Daphne is a beautiful 2 years old greyhound, who has recently joined our kennels, so we are still learning about her. She is an ex-racing greyhound, but thankfully she only run 13 times as she was not as fast as others. We however suspect that she would be very fast at finding her spot on a couch :) Her kennel mum said that Daphne has been such a joy to spend time with, very well behaved and clean in kennels. She is adorable with people, very affectionate and cuddly - you need to meet her to understand how cuddly :). Gets along with all the other kennel dogs.

Banksy is a lovely blue lad, very good natured and affectionate. He loves cuddles and he will come up to you and put his head on your belly to get a chin rub. He is playful, likes his food and eats like a gentleman, without gobbling it down. He can be rehomed/fostered with or without other dogs.

Teddy is an ex racing greyhound. He has run 11 races before retiring. When he arrived to the SGS kennels he was not in the best conditions, certainly in need of a good amount of TLC. He is however a strong lad and, despite everything, a very happy chap, with his tail in perpetual wagging motion. So we are sure that, now that he is in Michelle's hands, he will bounce back soon. Teddy is a bit of a pirate. He has no manners (really...none...) but his heart is certainly in the right place. He just wants to play and wants some love and attention but has no idea how to ask for it with all his four paws on the ground. He is also capable of jumping very high, so he will need a secure garden.

Nando is a lovely big lad, very affectionate. He ran 37 races before retiring. He loves his food and is good with other dogs. He has a plated hock and so he is currently being assessed and Michelle is taking good care of him while helping him to recover. We think that he will need a place with no access stairs and ideally a garden.

Sally is a small girl, very happy, friendly and affectionate. She run 12 races before retiring and, if you ask her, retirement really suits her. She is very good natured and so far she seems to not be bothered by other dogs. She is a little excited to be in a new place and her leash manners are in need of some polishing but we think that she will probably stop all the excited jumping once she settles a little more.

Charlie has recently been welcomed into our kennels. He arrived together with Bodhi. It's just early days and his joyful personality is already coming across. He is described as a very happy boy, who will get all giddy with excitement when it is his turn to play in the paddock. He is also a foodie, he will eat just about anything :) But has very good table manners. He is very affectionate with people and gets on with all our kennel dogs. He just got a dental, which means he will need to be careful with his tasty food for a couple of weeks, but he will heal soon. We will soon update his profile, as we learn more bout this perky lad.

Bodhi has recently arrived into our kennels, together with Charlie. He is an ex-racing greyhound, and he run 104 races, so we are particularly happy that he is now in safe hands with Michelle. He is a lovely and affectionate lad and he arrived in good conditions, so it looks like all he will need is a good bath...and, of course, a forever home where he can rest his paws! He is very playful and, in typical greyhound style, loves his bed. Can be a little shy at first but loosens up very quickly, showing what an easy going lad he is. He will make a fantastic companion for a lucky family!

Zoey is a beautiful 6 year old lady, not far from turning 7. She has arrived at our kennel together with her friend Josie. Both of them have run way too many races, with Zoey having run 162 times! Among our latest arrivals, she is one of the most confident dogs. Our first impression is that she is a lovely, well adjusted girl, despite what she has been through. It is definitely time for her to rest her paws and get to know the comforts of a couch and the love of a family. Zoey has joined the SGS kennel bunch a few days ago. We will keep updating her profile as we get to know more about her.

This playful girl has run more races than any dog should ever have to endure, having been on the tracks for 192 times! When she was a pup she had a nose injury, which has not affected her. We could not be happier that she is finally in the safety of our kennels, being looked after by Michelle, who is trying her best to show her what life can be like when you don't need to run all the time. We don't know much about Josie's personality yet, but she has made a great first impression on us and we can't wait to receive applications to foster or adopt this beautiful girl, who sure deserves to enjoy a peaceful and happy life now.

Kitty is a beautiful three year old hound. She is another recent arrival at the kennel, an adorable addition to the SGS kennel bunch. We don't yet know much about her, aside the fact that she loves her toys. We will update her profile as soon as we get to know this beautiful girl.

Fran is an adorable young girl, welcomed by Michelle into our kennels only a few days ago. We can't wait to her more about her and we will make sure to report soon.

Bea is a small girl, same age as Kitty and Fran. She arrived at the kennel together with Kitty. She is adjusting well to life with Michelle so we should soon be able to give a better description of her personality. For now we can tell with some confidence that she is a foodie!
