Kennel Hounds

Ember has just arrived at the kennel under our care. It is a bit early to know much about her but she is being assessed and we'll post more info here as soon as we can.

Hazel has just arrived with us at the kennel in the company of her sister, Nova. She is a little nervous right now but we'll give her some time to settle into a routine and let you know how she's getting on.

Jade and Juniper are 5 year old sisters. Rare thing, they have never raced but they have been in kennel their entire life so far. Despite this fact they are so sooooo happy and full of beans! They are not bonded so we believe they can be fostered or adopted separately. They are a recent arrival at the kennel, we will write more about them as soon as we get to know them better. What we can say for now is that they are the happiest of girls, and Jade is a foody. They are 5 and yet they behave like puppies :) It is definitely their turn at a happy life!

Beautiful Lou came into our care not long ago and here is what we know so far about her. Lou is a very calm dog, who likes to observe the world. When all other dogs huddle around you for treats she is not one of those on first row trying to get attention, she will instead politely wait at the back , and what gets her noticed are her beautiful eyes. She is very clean in her kennel and we think she might enjoy a quiet lifestyle (when she is let out in the paddock she chooses to lie down rather than run around :) ). She also walks very well on lead. Lou is a little diamond waiting to shine and we can't wait for someone to give the opportunity to do so! We think that she will need to be an only dog in the house, at least at first.

Martha has just arrived and there's not a lot we know about her. We'll let her settle in, assess how she's doing and keep you all updated when we know more.

Nova, Zena and Olive are our latest arrival. We will soon get to know them and we will keep you posted.

Nova, Zena and Olive are our latest arrivals and we can't wait to learn more about them. Olive is a beautiful girl, just under two years old. She has never raced. Let's see what the future holds for her...

The beautiful 2 years old Pippa 😊 This little pup has so far been polite and clean in kennel, a very good natured girl. To the best of our knowledge, she has never raced. She is a lovely happy dog, who adores being with her people...so much so that sometimes she tries to walk in between your legs to be closer to you and play with you :) some lead training required there, but she is adorable nonetheless. She likes to snooze outside, in the sun. And when you call her she will smile at you :) She has been polite to all the dogs she has met so far, and if a dog gets too barky at her she will assertively but politely put them back into their place. She has not fully blossomed yet, but she certainly will when she is welcomed to a lovely home. Pippa will make a lucky family very happy.

Simon is a beautiful four years old brindle boy. He is an ex racing greyhound and ran his last race in May. He is adapting amazingly well to life at the SGS kennel. He has not been with us for long, but we already know that he is so soooooo cuddly and trusting. He just loves to be with his humans. He walks very well on the lead and is very well mannered. It is difficult to describe what a pleasure he is to be around. Simon is just a perfect mix between being happy, smiling and waggly, without being too much. A happy gentleman, one may say. Sonny is a 5 years old lad, who has quickly adapted to the SGS kennel routine, smart boy 😊 He seems to be a little shy when first meeting people, but onece he warms up to you his lovely personality starts to come across...and it's all good news from that point on :) Sonny is a very clean dog, with a lovely appetite and very affectionate. He sometimes gets a little worried by new things; so, at least at first, he will need a quiet home, with owners who will introduce him slowly to the world, and with no kids. He will need a little time to adjust to life outside kennel, but we are sure that he will blossom into an amazing dog.

Teddy is an ex racing greyhound. He has run 11 races before retiring. When he arrived to the SGS kennels he was not in the best conditions, certainly in need of a good amount of TLC. He is however a strong lad and, despite everything, a very happy chap, with his tail in perpetual wagging motion. So we are sure that, now that he is in Michelle's hands, he will bounce back soon. Teddy is a bit of a pirate. He has no manners (really...none...) but his heart is certainly in the right place. He just wants to play and wants some love and attention but has no idea how to ask for it with all his four paws on the ground. He is very affectionate and gets so excited when people approach him. He is also capable of jumping very high, so he will need a secure garden. We believe that, at least at first, he will need to be an only dog and he will need an experienced foster family, as he has a way of getting into mischief in the most creative ways, having outsmarted us more than once :) Get in touch with us if you want to know more about this adorable big boy who will sure steal your heart!
