Kennel Hounds

Sweet Milly has just joined the kennel bunch. She is a beautiful 5 year old girl, with the gentlest look in her eyes. She does not particularly like being in kennel but loves life when she is out and about and with her humans (can you blame her?). She is good with people and with all other SGS dogs. Loves her food, a bit too much perhaps :) and her toys too. If you would like to hear more about this girl get in touch with us!

Pablo has also arrivied only few days ago, the only thing we know at the moment is that he is super cute! He is settling in well and hopefully we will soon be ready to give you updates on this lovely fellow!

Blondie is still just a pup, not even 2 years old. She is a beautiful fawn girl, with an adorable demeanor. She just joined our kennel bunch, and what a lovely addition! We can't wait to learn more about this little girl.

Chippy and Toots arrived together not long ago. Chippy is a four years old lovely lad, who likes being outdoors, in the sun, enjoying the little bit of the world that he can experience while he is in kennel. He loves nothing more than the company of his humans and can't wait to be part of a family. Gets on well with all the other SGS greyhounds and so can be rehomed or fostered on his own or with other dogs. Loves to play with his toys and to get his humans to play hide and seek with him. Thor is a very big lad, a stunning blue hound. He arrived not long ago, together with Milly and Pablo. Thor is the gentlest of all giants, a very good natured and affectionate dog. He loves to put his head on your belly and be stroked. He loves it so much that he did the same even at the vets! In typical greyhound style, given the occasion he will lie down pretty much on anything, anywhere, will gladly eat whatever is on the menu, anytime of the day, and just can't wait to get his own sofa!

Toots has only recently arrived at the kennel, together with Chippy. She is a lovely 3 years old girl, small-ish in size. Toots might vell be a small girl, but rest assured, she knows what she wants and when she wants it ...and she will let you know! She is a little shy at first and so she needs gentle introductions, but she warms up quickly...and that's when her personality starts to come across :) She is a foodie, and good with all other SGS dogs she has met so far. We think that she might need to be slowly introduced to new (loud) noises. Toots is an adorable scoundrel, with plenty personality. She is ready to adopt a family of well-behaved humans so get in touch if you would like to be the lucky ones!

Teddy is an ex racing greyhound. He has run 11 races before retiring. When he arrived to the SGS kennels he was not in the best conditions, certainly in need of a good amount of TLC. He is however a strong lad and, despite everything, a very happy chap, with his tail in perpetual wagging motion. So we are sure that, now that he is in Michelle's hands, he will bounce back soon. Teddy is a bit of a pirate. He has no manners (really...none...) but his heart is certainly in the right place. He just wants to play and wants some love and attention but has no idea how to ask for it with all his four paws on the ground. He is very affectionate and gets so excited when people approach him. He is also capable of jumping very high, so he will need a secure garden. We believe that, at least at first, he will need to be an only dog and he will need an experienced foster family, as he has a way of getting into mischief in the most creative ways, having outsmarted us more than once :) Get in touch with us if you want to know more about this adorable big boy who will sure steal your heart!

Nando is a lovely big lad, very affectionate. He ran 37 races before retiring. He loves his food and is good with other dogs. He will need a place with no access stairs and ideally would love to have a garden. Nando is not a barker at all, he is a very polite boy, who loves food and people. He is very affectionate and adores to bask in the sun and have some grass to lie on. Like many greyhounds he is very partial to his bed, and will snooze on it also when outdoors. Nando has a very big heart and is an easy dog who will make a great addition to a lucky family!

This adorable girl has run more races than any dog should ever have to endure, having been on the tracks for 192 times! When she was a pup she had a nose injury, which has not affected her. We could not be happier that she is finally in the safety of our kennels, being looked after by Michelle, who is trying her best to show her what life can be like when you don't need to run all the time. Josie has made a great impression on us, thanks to her many good qualities. She is a calm and inquisitive dog, even tempered , affactionate and so well behaved. After a long racing career all she wants is to put her paws up and be with someone, someone to call her own family. Her ideal home will have a little garden where Josie could potter about, enjoy her retirement and spend time with her family. She is good with children and she gets along with all the other hounds she has met in kennel so far. We can't wait to receive applications to foster or adopt this beautiful girl, who sure deserves to enjoy a peaceful and happy life now.

Fran is a midium size adorable young girl, and a very welcome recent addition to the SGS kennel bunch. Her tail never stops wagging and she is always on the go! She loves time out of kennel but won't pull when it's time to go to the paddock. She is excited by any little novelty, and curious to discover more of everything she sees. She wants to be part of every activity that is going on - including when Michelle was trying to sow some seeds...and Fran decided she was as qualified as Michelle :) Fran would be an amazing addition to a lucky family, this girl would simply love being part of a family.

Bea is a small-ish girl, same age as Kitty and Fran. She arrived at the kennel together with Kitty. She is adjusting well to life with Michelle at the kennel, so we can already say something about her personality. Bea has a fantastic appetite, yet eats very politely, like a true lady - and nothing seems to upset her stomach. She has not completely come out of her shell yet, but she is not shy with people and in fact she will come up to you to say hello. Walks very well on lead and she has so far got on well with all the other SGS greyhounds. We believe she might end up running your house as she is certainly trying to run Michelle's schedule - she has quickly learnt when it is time to go to the paddock or eat and she will rimind Michelle or whoever will listen that it's her turn :) ! At the moment we believe she might like to be fostered or rehomed with another hound, preferably a boy, but this is not a must.
