Kennel Hounds

Flower is a young, stunningly beautiful big girl, cheeky and full of energy and with a keen prey drive. She comes from Ireland, where she was used for coursing. She is an absolute foodie and gets along with people and medium or large size dogs. Flower has a mild skin condition, which at the moment does not require any ongoing management, as it does not cause her any problems. The only effect it has had so far is to make her fur a little unruly. She will make a wonderful pet when the right family comes along!

Simba is a shy little hound, happy at heart, and inquisitive, but can be anxious sometimes. Loves sniffing new smells, making a nest with his blankets or bedding, playing with soft toys. He will thrive in a calm, quiet environment, possibly a rural home away from the hustle and bustle. Simba will need experienced owners who will help him to get to know the world at his own pace and help him build the confidence to show his cheeky side. He might also benefit from having the right canine companion. Does not like people going above his head and grabbing his collar.

Norman is a bouncy lad, good with people and very good natured. He comes from a disqualified trainer and he has not been taught much so far, but we have no doubt he will turn into a gentleman if someone takes a little time to show him the ropes and some kindness. He is lovely to be around and a foodie. Likes walking and so he will need a slightly more active family.

Eve is an adorable energetic little hound and her bounciness has recently won her a foster home, where she will be moved to soon. Despite coming from a disqualified trainer, she is incredibly joyful and sweet and truly comes alive when interacting with people.

Noelle is absolutely adorable, lovely with people, affectionate, playful, sweet and a foodie. The tenderness in her eyes is something human words cannot describe – look at these pictures and see for yourself! She will need to be rehomed as an only dog and, as she likes to jump up for greetings (again, see pictures 😊), she should be rehomed with slightly older children.

Ivor has just arrived into SGS care, after spending a long time waiting for a rescue to take him. He raced 95 times, with the last one in November 2023, so we’re delighted he’s now at the kennels with Michelle while he waits for a foster home. We will update his profile as we get to know him. For now he is described as a lovely boy who walks well on the lead and is clean in his kennel, and like so many greyhounds, Ivor absolutely loves his food 😊 He takes treats gently.

Mannie has recently come into SGS care and is beginning to settle into the kennel routine. He raced 98 times, and we’re pleased he’s now in the safe hands of Michelle at the kennels. He has been neutered and recently underwent a dental so he’s all ready for the next step in his rehoming journey! Mannie is a big brindle lad, tall and slim. So far has been a lovely addition to the kennel pack. He is a bit shy at first but warms up to people quickly. He is a very polite pooch, who takes treats very gently. Not so gentle with cats though, and we would not bet on his reaction to small furry dogs either :) We will update his profile as soon as we know more about him so...stay tuned!

This gorgeous 2 years old girl recently arrived at the SGS kennels and already she’s proving herself to be an absolute delight! Ana is a super friendly pup who loves her food, walks well on the lead and has been clean in her kennel. We’ll learn more about her in the coming weeks. What we do know is that she will need a home with another dog. We also know that in kennels she is having a lovely time making friends with Ivor and going on walks with him :)

Jordan is a large hound who recently arrived at the kennels along with Dylan. Another beautiful black boy, Jordan is taking his time to adjust to his new surroundings and with a little more time, he’ll be ready for a foster home. We’ll update Jordan’s profile as we learn more about him

This stunning boy arrived at the kennels recently and has already made quite an impression! He’s a very large boy, and in our experience, the bigger the hound the sweeter their nature :) Michelle says he is the biggest racing greyhound she has had at the kennels. He is described as a lovely and gently boy, with a comedic tongue that sticks out when he shakes :) Prior to coming into SGS care, Dylan sustained a fractured hock, which we’re pleased to say has now fully healed. We’ll be updating Dylan’s profile as we learn more about him.
